I am Angeline Mano M of age 25, the Research Assistant, Nature Educator, Associate Editor & Programme Coordinator of a youth-led organization, Salem Ornithological Foundation (sof-life.org | Facebook, Twitter, Instagram @salembirds). I started watching birds at the age of 7 with my mother. I am a post-graduate in English Literature. However, due to my strong affinity toward nature conservation, am pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Zoology. I am very much into introducing birds & bird watching to Women, Children, Youth, and the public, through various outreach & education programs. My area of interest to name a few Bird monitoring at wetlands, behavioral study, encouraging women in Nature conservation & outreach material development. Everywhere I see all birds of everyday life, they suddenly become a whole new world; a spellbinding sensation that would make me fathom the deeper meaning of life. The more I observed and learned, the more I wanted to work towards finding ways to educate people and make them understand their responsibilities to protect and conserve the environment. Being very much crazy about documentation via checklists, I always start my day with birding no matter wherever I am. I love to photograph and document the distribution of birds in every habitat at Salem. Watching birds in forests is my all-time favorite.  

I make eBird checklists as often as I can and contribute my bird photos to eBird, as I am obsessed with documentation via eBird checklists.  “I suppose I've done my bit, it's now up to you younger people,” Dr. Salim Ali says. I hope and wish that I will do my best to inspire, encourage and share the joy of bird-watching with other women and youth.
